All tiers require a 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 install, DirectX 12, 16 GB of system memory. The minimum GPU tier (GTX 1660) is older than most current AAA minimums and reflects an intent to keep the entry bar low.
Steam does not list a separate hard-disk install path. An SSD is the official expectation for Phantom Blade Zero on PC. A drive would slows loading and may cause streaming-related hitching in open areas; the page does not say the game is unplayable on one, only that SSD is the listed drive type.
Minimum is 1080p at 30 FPS with upscaling on a GTX 1660-class GPU. That target assumes DLSS / FSR / XeSS is in use. Recommended is 1440p at 60 FPS with upscaling. Ray Tracing moves the GPU up to RTX 3070 Ti / RX 6800 XT class while keeping 1440p at 60 FPS. Path Tracing requires RTX 4070 Ti / RX 7900 XT and targets 4K at 60 FPS with ray reconstruction.
