Deadlock / Hero Shooter
Deadlock / Combat system
Deadlock is a third-person lane-pushing MOBA. Combat takes place across three lanes with neutral camps (creeps) between them. Heroes use guns and abilities to push, gank, and ultimately destroy objectives.
Matches open with both teams buying starting items and laning out. Heroes farm souls (the in-match currency) from last-hitting neutral creeps, killing enemy heroes, and destroying objectives. Souls buy items that grow hero power. The team that converts soul advantage into map control wins by destroying the enemy Patron.
| Role | Lane behavior |
|---|---|
| Carry | Scales hardest with souls; weaker early game |
| Support | Helps carry secure last hits; weaker late game |
| Tank / Initiator | Engages fights; high durability |
| Assassin / Ganker | Roams between lanes for kills |
| Mage / Nuker | High ability damage; mid-range scaling |
Deadlock is a third-person game with vertical movement (z-axis). Heroes can jump on zip lines to traverse the map, ascend to rooftops for high ground, and use abilities that target airborne enemies.
Every hero has 4 abilities: 3 regular abilities (Q, E, R or signature) and 1 ultimate. Abilities have cooldowns and consume the hero's resource (typically stamina or mana depending on the hero).
Specific hero ability damage numbers, exact cooldowns in seconds, and detailed scaling formulas are not enumerated in official sources. The hero and abilities pages will activate after release verification.
