Deadlock / Hero Shooter
Deadlock / Progression
Progression in Deadlock happens entirely inside each match. Souls earned during a match buy items that scale a hero through the late game. There is no persistent account progression at the time of writing.
Souls are the in-match currency in Deadlock. Heroes earn souls by last-hitting neutral creeps, killing enemy heroes, destroying objectives, and clearing jungle camps. Souls buy items from the in-match shop.
Souls spent on items turn into raw stats (health, armor, damage, ability power, attack speed). Item builds are situational: a carry hero that is ahead buys more damage items; a support hero buys utility and aura items to amplify the team.
Deadlock does not have hero levels that persist between matches. Each match starts every hero at the same level and progression happens entirely during that match. Account-level progression has not been announced in the sources reviewed.
Ranked mode tracks a per-account rank visible at the start of each match. Rank is earned by winning ranked matches and lost by losing. Rank resets between seasons are not confirmed in the official sources reviewed.
